What a terrific guy my GP is, he just said “it’s probably nothing.” When I
asked why he said that he just said “because it came so sudden it is
probably nothing and will go away.” No questions about my music habits or
anything else at all. The guy should loose his license. I’ve been listening
to headphone music for hours a day since the 80’s. My tinnitus came out of
the blue one morning and it hasn’t gone away. Seeing a ENT spec. on Monday,
guess he’s gonna give me the def sentence.

MRHongish says:

I have also gone to my gp to try and explain my problems and I tryed to get
incapacity benenfit. I felt like crying when i was turned down, i felt like
nobody understood what i was going through, last year was a nightmare, this
year i cant even sign on to the job center because i cant sleep until the
early hours of the morning and waking up either at past noon, or a friend
has woken me up in the late mornings when i’ve only had 4-5 hours
sleep…completly drained and depressed.

Blomsternisse says:

The videolink doesn’t work and I want more info on this 🙁

STHFGDBY says:

I have it and the way to cope is to learn how to deal with it. You must
counter act with it by never spending too much time in too quiet
surroundings and focusing on it. Put soft music on and at night put the
telly on low and it draws your attention from it and you soon fall asleep.
DO NOT focus on it in quiet surroundings, that’s the worst thing you can do
because you will feel 100 times worse.I had it as a child too and found it
very distressing so do not ignore kids with it.

MJafro says:

I favoured this video

GOW155 says:

Ive had a firework thrown at my right ear, it was extremely close atleast
1cm away from it. it happened ruffly 5 months. the second after it happened
i at the worst ringing in my ears. i thought it would go away eventually.
it did it isnt as bad anymore but i can still hear it. And i think i might
have lost hearing in my right ear and its really effecting me.still to this
day when theres a certain pitch of noise my ears get this really loud and
noticeable noise.I dont know why but could you help

its not visible

Nimi Mimi says:

I have had ringing in my left ear for the past couple of days. It was like
this ever since Monday of this week. It’s causing my sleep, and it’s so
annoying. My mom thinks it’s from a recent cold I’ve had. I wasn’t like
this on Sunday, it only started happening om

steve resendes says:

I’ve had it for the past year and a half or so. I’ve seen on different
sites where diet and or wax buildup can affect it. Obviously loud noise as
well. I play in a band as well and I’ve never used hearing protection. But
like 54spatula had said, caffeine, smoking and from what I have found is
that alcohol increases it. High blood pressure, sodium intake etc. I’m now
at the point where I am searching for help… and from the sound of it,
there is no cure.

54spatula says:

had it about 10 years through excessive clubbing, standing near pa stacks
at gigs and playing drums without ear protection. diet i’ve found is a big
part of it. caffiene or any stimulant increases it, along with smoking.
hope you’re coping well with it 1 yr on.

MRHongish says:

Thank you…im 19 years old and have had T for over 10 years, I can’t help
to think what my tinnitus will be like when i am older. I’ve pretty much
lost hearing in my left ear and i feel as if something is blocked inside
the E-tube but doctors are baffled. I’ve had sleeping pills last year but
there terrible…I smoked cannabis, makes it louder..i think due to
increasing blood pressure for a short time, i tryed exercising all day to
try and get into a correct sleeping pattern to find work.
