OVERCOMING TINNITUS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

TINNITUS, RINGING EARS OR EAR NOISE IS THE CONTINUOUS PERCEPTION OF NOISE INCLUDING RINGING, ROARING, BUZZING, WHINING, OR CRACKLING. THESE SOUNDS ARE HEARD IN THE ABSENCE OF EXTERNAL SOUNDS.

POPULAR BELIEF IS THAT TINNITUS IS CAUSED BY DAMAGE TO PARTS OF THE EAR PERHAPS FROM A LOUD SOUND AND SEVERE EMOTIONAL OR PHYSICAL STRESS. RESEARCH UNDERTAKEN BY HAZEL AND JASTREBOFF INDICATES THAT, CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, TINNITUS OR “EAR NOISE” IS A “BRAIN THING” NOT AN “EAR THING”. IN THIS REGARD, STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT MOST PEOPLE WILL PERCEIVE TINNITUS IF LEFT IN A PERFECTLY QUIET ROOM FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.

Tinnitus is the condition where a phantom noise is heard inside the head. It can be loud or soft, intermittent or permanent. The sound can be anything from ringing to buzzing, hissing, rustling, clanging or roaring.

While there is currently no medical treatment available for tinnitus, there is hope: effective, proven alternative treatments do exist. Research has shown that Sound Therapy helps 90% of tinnitus sufferers, with relief being experienced anywhere from a few days of listening to 14 months.

Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) occurs when neurons fire from internal stimuli rather than external stimuli (sounds). There are many causes of this mis-firing. Tinnitus can be treated by removing any triggers and providing the right sensory inputs on a daily basis, which is what Sound Therapy achieves.

rumori naturali, quali onde marine, ruscello, pioggia, bosco, cinguettio, battito cardiaco e fruscio

Mark Harris says:

Tinnitus is in the auditory cortex, not the ears. The cilia in the
cochleae get damaged. First ones in are for high frequency. They get
slaughtered by loud low bass notes. So, you lose your highs from loud lows.
The ringing is in the brain. It’s a ‘phantom pain’ for loss of limb, the
cilia. Same as an amputee feels an ache or itch in a limb no longer there.
It’s the brain’s feeble attempt to re-wire for loss of limb; that being the
cilia. If they could stop the ringing my/our hearing would probably
increase about 56-60 % …It’s not so much the deafness as the tinnitus.
But, until a cure IS found and is on the front page on the newspapers,
there is NO cure yet no matter what anyone claims or tries to sell you.
NOTHING…

am i the only whose tinutis have gotten worse every year?

john correa says:

My tinnitus probably isn’t the worse, it’s like the sound of crickets in
the forest at night. But i kind of am getting annoyed of it now. So thank
you for this, this really relaxes my ear. I only had it for a couple of
days now, I haven’t gone to the doctor yet because I’m afraid, but they
told me that it could be caused by simple ear wax build up to a brain
tumor. Because I haven’t gone to the club for a long time, I do not think
loud noise could have caused it, although I always have my earphones in my
ear. I don’t know I guess I’m still in denial. I will go to the doctor this
week though, hope it’s just hypertension or earwax thingy and could still
be reversed:(

cj m says:

Ive had tinnitus for a long time. Started when I was in the USAF working
on the flight line around F-16 fighter jets, cause you cant always get both
ear plugs and ear covers on in time so a few seconds here and there
gradually does damage. Over the years after I left the military it just
gradually got worse. Oddly enough its my low tones [tested after I left
the military] that seemed to suffer damage in the hearing loss other than
the rather annoying sound [I just try not to think about it]. At this
point its such a disruption in my life that I’m willing to try just about
anything.

The hissing sound in your video is louder to me that the water droplets.

Seriously, the noise of that shower is a welcome replacement to the ringing

Denise Jones says:

I am 64yrs old, and experienced an awful dizziness attack when aged 8 yrs
old, at school, couldn’t walk straight, felt very sick, lasted approx 15
mins. I’ve suffered attacks for years, now, the noise is in both ears.
Also, I have raised blood pressure, probably makes it worse. Sometimes, it
affects my sleep, and I cry, but I’ll sleep well the next night. I have,
when feeling pretty desperate, thought of suicide, but, have my faith in
Jesus, so wouldn’t do that. This shower noise eases the Tinnitus, and
believe me, you can learn to deal with it, and live your life.

Michael Marzolo says:

who’s paying the water bill on this ??? :)

meregoddess says:

I have had tinnitus for many years, and know that until the day I die I
will never again know a moment of silence. This sound works great for
masking the “crickets” in my ear, but it is just basically replacing one
sound with another. My ear doctor told me I have tinnitus, along with
minor hearing loss in the upper ranges, and I do find it harder to hear the
voices of my younger female students now. Tinnitus can only be masked,
dealt with, and/or ignored. It is mostly noticeable in the absence of
other sounds (especially in a quiet area) or when focused on. Don’t let
anyone fool you folks. There is no cure. You have to learn to deal with
it, and you can. There are far worse things in life.

This is amazing. My tinnitus has gotten louder and has been driving me
crazy. I went to my doctor last week to see if ANYTHING could be done to
quell the sound, but my doctor said “If I knew of something that would
alleviate the sound in your head I would be a billionaire”. This video is
the first thing I’ve heard to completely block out the sound in my head. I
can actually use it to sleep. Thanks so much for posting it!

I have Tinnitus and When i was kid it started, at first, it was just a tiny
and sound, but frequently i’ve experienced louder noises this year.. i
wonder why and some of my friends told me to have a therapy about it but i
can’t so I need to listen tinnitus sounds even though the noises are much

Ronrocken says:

Try this to reduce tinnitus (will help if tinnitus is partly due to neck
tension) :

1. Lie on your back

2. raise and lower your head (start nodding) slowly about 8-10 times

3. do the same movement sideways

At first it will feel heavy but after a few sessions it seems to become
easier.
